A rare view of the main building from the railway side. Built of two different forms of stone,
the main bulk of a type of pinkish-red carved sandstone, and the quoins and decorative bits of white stone.
Most of the nearer section of the building housed the Booking Office and Stationmaster’s room: the farthest
section was a very large general waiting room. The middle section was open plan at the front , housing the
Ladies’ Waiting Room at the front and a lavatory at the back.
