History of Social Hall

The original social hall was a dilapidated hut of WW2 vintage. Some pictures of it are shown below:

In 1998 the condition of the old hut was dire. It was decided to demolish it and replace it with a larger, newer building.  An old temporary schoolroom was discovered in Malvern and purchased to form the basis of the new hall.  Photographs of the building as it was in Malvern, the construction of the new foundations at Northwood Green and re-assembly of the hall are shown below:

Not all residents were happy that the hall should be replaced:

Interestingly, the new hall is actually lower than the old one was.

Since 1998, the new hall and the green have been used for social occasions and by various clubs:
